the seeds that have been planted are starting to bloom

I was so excited today!!! Caeden and I have been working with our letters forever. He has been wanting to write his name for a long time now and has been frusturated that he just "couldn't get his hand to do it." I tried making dots for him to trace, assisting him in holding the pen, writing with chalk, shaving cream, you name it.... This morning he said, "mom, I want to write my name." I said, ok and figured it would go just like every other time, but no. Whala! He did it! I wrote it out for him to look at on another piece of paper and his hand was able to make the letters. He was so excited too (that it actually worked) that he asked how to spell Caleb's name and did that too. :) I don't know if any of you have heard of the My baby can read system but we saw a commercial and became suckers for it. It has been fantastic and we highly reccomend it, I am certain there has been some correlation for him. Anyway, he will be starting preschool on the 18th (which I can't believe) and he is so happy he will be able to put his name on his things at school. :) I am so thankful I have another little one at home since my bud seems to be growing up so quickly!

Yeah Caeden! I've also learned parenting preschoolers is more about giving them opportunites to explore and to not be so concerned when we start to see the fruit...though it's SO fun to celebrate the harvest when it comes!!!! I love it when they decide they're ready for things we've been teaching them! All those things you did with him to learn his name, K were key learning moments that lead up to this one! Great job Mama and C!
