Day 5.... vaca CA!

This was our pretty entrance to our little abode this week. Inviting huh?
I thought this family shot was pretty "perfect". I'm always trying to get a great shot and you know what?... with the 4 of us it usually just turns out more like this.... Caeden looks scared, Caleb isn't looking at the camera, I have a dorky hat from the dollar store on (because I forgot mine) and if you could read Jay's mind here, it would be saying, "how many more family pictures will we have to take?" :) Picture perfect don't you think?

Caeden was thrilled that daddy went swimming with him. The ocean isn't Jay's favorite... oh how he loves his son! Notice the goggles on Caeden? So funny! He was the ONLY kid I saw all week that wore goggles or a life jacket in the ocean. Well prepared, well prepared!
Caeden was busy collecting sand crabs today. Can you believe how full his bucket is?
This was our favorite beach of the 3 we tried this trip. Leucadia state beach. How fun is the walk way leading down? It was super secluded, minimal people, cool high cliffs, a shower at the bottom and a lot of surfers to watch.

Unfortunately, all things come to an end and our vacation is now over. We have many fun memories, a rejuvination in our spirit and a gratefulness to God for all He has provided!!

PS some of you have been excited about daily posts, and I am glad you enjoyed it while it lasted... vacation is now over and home life has returned. :)

Day 4.... vaca CA!

We decided to try out a quieter beach today and chose Southern Carlsbad beach. I was so much more relaxed with out tons of people surrounding us. It was a bit chilly today, but I tried to just soak it in since we will head back to the heat tomorrow night. :(
Caeden boogie boarded all day! He was so brave!
And made friends that he could jump the waves and boogie board with. He had such a fun day of playing!

There were big ol' rocks behind us that were a huge hit for this little monkey! As much time as Caeden spent in the ocean Caleb was climbing the rocks.
Gotta love a swim shirt and diaper at the beach. :)

Day 3.... Vaca CA!

Jay and I surprised the boys with a fun day at Legoland, CA today! My sweet husband took off his hat to share with me today since I burned my forehead at the beach yesterday. Thanks Babe!
We got to build our own cars and race em down a track. Daddy's car won every time!
A sleepy tiger halfway through our day. We were there when the doors opened and left at closing and both boys were fabulous all day!
The man we took our pic around is made out of legos. The park is FILLED with lego creations and the boys were all in awe! This was the best year for us to go since the boys LOVE legos!
This is Daddy's favorite pic of the day. He gave us money for the famous Granny Apple fries with vanilla dip and the 3 of us were like vultures to the container... couldn't get em' in fast enough. :)
Caeden got to drive a lego car all on his own and was pretty thrilled!
Mom, would you look at that?! Caleb thought for sure DV should be talking to him he was so huge! Again, all made out of legos. We visited DV early on in the day and 9 hours later, before we left, Caleb asked if he could go back and see DV. We did. :)

We rode a handful of rides, Caeden played in a water park while Caleb slept, we ate 2 big meals, did some shopping and all in all had a great day! Here's to an amazing night's sleep tonight! :)

Day 2... vaca CA!

Fun in the Sun!
Movie watching, relaxing, until...... a few moments after I took this picture and the boys got in a fight where Caleb kicked Caeden in the mouth and knocked out the front tooth. It was semi wiggly but not anywhere close to coming out on it's own. Needless to say lots of tears, the movie went off and we decided we'd head to the beach. It may be vacation but real life happens wherever you go. :)
Here's the new smile! I can't believe how with each tooth that leaves my 5 year olds mouth he takes on a whole, new, older look... everytime. Our creative kiddo (who usually gets 2 quarters under his pillow for a tooth) said this morning.. "I think I should get $2 for a tooth that I loose on vacation and 2 quarters when I loose a tooth at home." Hilarious!
Caleb looked at Jay and I this morning in these glasses and said, "Hey...... look at me, I'm a big kid." And then this evening with the glasses he looked at Daddy and said, "What's up Jay?"...........Priceless!

Day 1.... vaca in CA!

We have arrived and are loving our time here in Encinitas!!! The house we are staying at is adorable, and the owners are so sweet! We went on a beautiful walk in the neighborhood today and Caeden took this crooked picture of Jay and I. :)
My cutie little bud... using light sabers and swords to battle wherever he goes, even the beach!
Another cool spot along our walk today. Caeden found this pathway and was so excited!
Gorgeous ocean.. with a perfectly lit sky, amazing weather, my 3 favorite boys, and me.... one GRATEFUL girl! So looking forward to a full beach day tomorrow and "chillaxin' " it will be good!

Reprieve from the heat

Jay and I got to have a nice bike date today. I must say Show Low has quite a few hills, sure gave us a run for our money on beach cruisers. :) That's ok though, good to have a work out and always enjoyable to have time together just the two of us!!!!!
Up and coming worship leaders right here. Caeden and Caleb love our VBS worship Cd and asked if they could do a concert for the family in the front yard ( incase other people were coming by they could hear about Jesus too.) We of course took front row seats. :)
Suited up this time!!!!!!! Caeden, Grandma and I all swam across the lake. I am so thankful to have an adventuresome mom and son. We loved our time at Fools Hollow!!!!!!!
We had great times once again!!!!!!!! Happy 4th of July one and all!!!!!!!!!!!!!
